Helping Hands is in desperate need of volunteers for numerous positions, including:  answering phones & greeting people (Monday & Tuesday afternoons), sorting & hanging clothes, running cash register, working in the new furniture store on Thursdays and/or Fridays, cleaning donated furniture, performing ongoing maintenance and cleaning at both buildings, yard work, and hauling donated furniture.    If you are willing to serve your community in this vital ministry, contact Pegge or Dina at 724-376-3231.

Helping Hands, in cooperation with various local churches, is also initiating a new outreach ministry entitled "Helping Hammers."  This ministry's mission is to "share the love of God by providing minor household construction and repairs for homeowners with special needs in Northeast Mercer County."  They are also seeking to provide fellowship amongst the local churches as they work together to provide a "witness to non-Christians that the Church is alive and relevant to today's world."  Anyone desiring to be part of this ministry may contact Diane DeAngelo at s.deangelo@att.net or by phone at 724-376-3231.

Cindy Beggs is working on putting together a "Hero Hall of Fame" in the lobby for the Eric Horner concert on June 25th, and is in need of any and all military, firefighter, police, and EMS uniforms, as well as pictures, and other memorabilia.   She has specific need for a recent NAVY uniform, as well as metal replicas  (at least 10 but not more than 24 inches in length) of a firetruck, a police car, and an ambulance.  Also, she would like to borrow photos of any veteran who has recently joined or started attending ECC (within the past 3 years), or any veteran who has not already previously submitted a photo.  Please leave photos in the office and make sure your name, rank, and dates of service are on the back of the photo.  Photos will be scanned and returned to the owner, and the copy will be displayed as part of the "Hero Hall of Fame."    Copies of all photos previously submitted will also be displayed. Finally, anyone having photos of firemen/women, police, EMS, or other rescue workers which they'd like to submit for display, please follow the same instructions (above) as for veterans' photos. Questions may be directed to Cindy Beggs at 724-376-2218 or beggs_email@hotmail.com.
