Week 2 Overview
- Theme: It focuses on the themes of faith, covenant, and God's faithfulness despite human failure. It highlights God's promise to Abraham to make a great nation, emphasizing that faith overcomes what sin changes, while navigating themes of doubt and, occasionally, familial dysfunction.
- Scripture Focus: Genesis 12-35
- Key Concept: The Upper Story (God's Story): This is the vertical, divine perspective. It reveals that despite human rebellion, God is actively working to restore the relationship broken by sin. The Lower Story (Our Story): This is the horizontal, day-to-day, six-foot-view of life. In Chapter 2, it centers on Adam and Eve's disobedience in the Garden of Eden—the act of eating the fruit, the immediate guilt, shame, and the hiding from God.
